FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
The book of Revelation can scare many people because the book deals with the end of the age of which we live. But, if you are a true believer we have no need to fear but to rejoice in the glorious return of our Lord and Savior!
It is my desire that your joy be full even in the event of the end of the age in which we live. Starting in April on Wednesday nights at or around the 16th, I will be beginning a study on the book of Revelation. This will be a verse-by-verse study and you might be surprised how events are unfolding all around us as we speak.
Jesus said “No one knows the day or the hour of His return”. However, He did say that 24). If you are interested in these times in which we live, you will not want to miss this study. Therefore, I would like to invite you to come out and be a part of this in-depth study in eschatology stating in mid-April.
“MERRY CHRISTMAS” FROM THE PRBC POSTMASTER
Once again we have the privilege to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and in the ongoing traditions of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, the post office will again be open to receive and post your Christmas cards for our regular attendees.
The “Post Office” was started over 20 years ago as a way for us as a church to help the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The Baptist Young Women decided to ask the people of the church that instead of sending their Christmas cards for the regular attendees of the church through the regular mail to “send” them through the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church “Post Office” and the postage would be given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
For you newcomers we ask for a gift to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for the amount of the postage or whatever God leads you to contribute. Please place your “postage” In the envelope provided, complete the information on the front and drop It is the offering slot.
Remember to give the cards to the “postmaster” or drop them in the card slot at the window so they may be post marked, counted, sorted and put up by the “postmaster”. The only address we require is the FULL FAMILY NAME. Remember to collect your cards from your box each Sunday.
The “postmaster” loves the privilege of doing this every year but is human and mistakes will happen. If someone else’s cards show up in your family box please just slip them back in the mail slot and they will be taken care of.
The names on the boxes are in alphabetical order, according to your last name, as close as we can do it without having to change all the names every year. If your name is not in the alphabetical list please check at the very end of the list to find your box.
If we missed assigning you a box or if you are new to our congregation, please check in the general delivery boxes on the bottom row that your last name begins with and take only your cards as several may be sharing these boxes.
In the past we have processed over 2,000 cards in one year. It will be hard on the “postmaster” but let’s try to top that this year.
The post office will officially open on November 30th.
For all church members who would like to get involved in one of the different ministries we have, you will have an opportunity to sign up when you decide where you would like to be. There will be a table in the foyer on Sunday morning. Here are the dates you can meet with one of our ministry heads on Sunday mornings:

PAJAMA AND UNDERWEAR GIVEAWAY!!
We are so excited about how God is already moving! He is already speaking to all of our hearts and we are MOVING! As most of you already know, we felt like God wanted us to step out and trust Him by serving a full Christmas Dinner at the giveaway. When I looked at what we had left in our budget I just laughed. But you know what? It’s going to happen and what’s so humbling and touching about this is that this may be the only meal that some of these people will eat that day and God has invited us to join Him in blessing this community in order that His name be Glorified. We want to thank each and everyone of you that have already felt God telling you to do something and acting on it, we want to thank those who have decided to stand with us to Believe that God can do anything, Trust that He will, in order to Experience the power of our God!!!
As a you continue to pray where God wants to use you, these are the areas of service that are needed on 12/20/14:
*Working in the Kitchen and Serving Christmas Dinner
*Pajama and Underwear Giveaway (there will be 3 rooms)
*Welcoming our Guests
*Assisting our Guests out to their car.
We can use every “Team” on this amazing day doing what God equipped and gifted that team to do for His Kingdom. Thank you again for your prayers.

This is an event that we have taken part in in the past and many of us have very fond memories of bonding with our Christian sisters. Let’s see if we can get a large group to go.
